Finished Knitting Project

I've been working on a couple of knitting projects lately and just finished this cute tank top for my daughter Elizabeth. It's knit from a fuzzy yarn that feels like really soft terry cloth -- sooo soft! I hope she likes it! I already have orders from my other girls for one, too! Elizabeth, if you read this from your vacation, let me know what you think!

Well, gotta run and get some sewing done before it gets too late.

hurricane dennis

Well, hurricane dennis has come to north georgia. I am almost ashamed to say (because I know that so many people have had their lives threatened by them) that I LOVE storms! I love the wind howling, the rain blowing, the lightning. It is a little scary to have threatening weather approaching, though (ie. a tornado or hurricane.) Maybe I love them so much because growing up, whenever we had a bad summer thunderstorm, my mom would have us 3 kids all sit on her bed and we would sing until the storm was over. That is one of my favorite memories.

first post

Well, I finally decided to join the ranks and create my own blog. I plan on sharing about my life as a mother, wife, knitter, seamstress, soapmaker, gardener, etc.

I am a mom to 3 daughters and 2 sons as well as 3 bonus daughters added to our family when my husband and I married 4 years ago. My family makes up the most important part of my life. My older son who is 15 is autistic, so parenting is extremely challenging as well as rewarding.

I love to do anything creative. My most favorite things are knitting, gardening, sewing, and soapmaking (which I have been able to turn into a business). I also love to volunteer at my children's elementary school.
I hope to one day be able to look back without regret and see that I've made a difference in the world around me. I'd like to be able to give back in return for all that has been given me.
